Eureka College to Celebrate Reagan's 100th with Super Bowl Party
February 6
Eureka College will celebrate the 100th anniversary of alumnus Ronald Reagan's birth by hosting a party in conjunction with Super Bowl XLV. The celebration on Feb. 6 in Reagan Physical Education Center will run from pre-show through post-game coverage on Fox and will include big-screen TVs tuned to the game, food and birthday cake.
"Eureka College is all set to celebrate the 100th birthday of the Gipper himself – Ronald ‘Dutch' Reagan," said Brian Sajko, referring to Reagan's college nickname and his role as George Gipp in the 1940 football movie "Knute Rockne: All American."
"How appropriate that we remember 'Dutch' by watching the big game on the birthday of this four-time football letter-winner," added Sajko, a Eureka College vice president and the curator of the Ronald Reagan Museum at Eureka College.
The admission cost of $20 will include a buffet of a variety of foods and beverages throughout the event. Eureka College students will be admitted free of charge. Alcoholic beverages will be prohibited.

Besides football, Reagan participated in track and cheerleading. He was the school's top swimmer and the coach of the swim team. In 1990 Reagan received the Theodore Roosevelt Award, the National Collegiate Athletic Association's highest honor to recognize an individual for whom competitive athletics in college and attention to physical well-being thereafter have been important factors in a distinguished career of national significance and achievement.
