I went to college at the University of New Mexico - 1970 to 1973. Graduated with a B.S. (major: Biology minor: English)

From there, I went to the University of Illinois - 1973 to 1979. I received my M.S. in Entomology (the scientific study of bugs) in 1977, and my Ph.D. in Entomolgy in 1979. I taught a semester at the University of Illinois in the Entomology Department (Insect Ecology)
